DVR

After moving into our new place and calling the local company to set up our internet and cable, we have found ourselves, for the very first time, with our very own DVR. I think usually the DVR is a treat you usually have to pay for, but the TV gods have blessed us and included it for FREE in our beautiful cable package (HD came free too!)

Let me just say that this has got to be one of the best inventions ever made.

I don't have to wait up for Conan anymore, I don't have to pick between 2 shows, no matter what time of day it is I have access to mickey mouse, clifford and the backyardigans. Pretty much I love my DVR. I think it needs a name. Is it a boy or a girl? In my opinion I think it's a boy. It's kind of like a butler even. Geeves? Let me know what you think or if you have a good name.

But before you think it's all sunshine and roses, let me tell you the one drawback...actually it's kind of two but they are related. The first being is that it spoils you...if you're just watching regular tv you go to hit fast forward at the commercial break and it wont let you. Dang it. And this brings the next one. Jared sometimes refuses to let me just watch a show at the scheduled time. If there is nothing else on that I want to watch, and there's nothing going on that night...I don't see any reason to not just watch the dang show. Major source of contention...he seriously makes me wait at least half an hour before we can watch the show so that we can fast forward through the commercials.

Our lives are so hard.

Welcome to paradise! I can't imagine life without it anymore :) And Cohen loves Mickey Mouse clubhouse and I love that I can just push play when he wakes up too early. Another problem you will come across- sometimes being able to record only 2 shows isn't enough. Haha sad, I know.

We don't even have cable at my house or even an antenna, so we don't get anything.

Have you got your internet hooked up yet, so Jared can play COD4 with me? You have until September.

My family is the same way! We are never allowed to start watching a show until at least 25 minutes after it starts! My mom has no patience for the commercials.

ohh welcome to bliss. it's so nice- huh? i'm missing mine right now (she's in a box right now)- but on that note, DVRs are definitely girls. boys could never be so very organized and efficient :)
